To your left you will see the Island of Stroma, three and a half kilometers from the mainland, inhabited by a seal colony and the occasional visitor.
In front of you, you will see the Orkney Islands from Hoy on your left then to South Walls, Flotta, Swona, South Ronaldsay and the Pentland Skerries at your extreme right. You will be able to see other visitors to John O’ Groats inquisitively watching you enjoying your stay, these will be grey seals swimming close to the beach.
